CHARLESTON, S.C. – The Charleston Fleet is proud to announce its non-profit of the year, Teachers’ Supply Closet. Each season the Fleet will select a local non-profit to partner with in an effort to make an impact in the Charleston community. The mission of Teachers’ Supply Closet is to serve children in the tri-county area in meeting their educational and creative needs by providing free supplies donated by businesses and individuals.  Their vision is for every child in the tri-county area to have the school supplies they need to succeed in school.

Fleet fans can help make an impact on Teachers’ Supply Closet by donating school supplies at each of the Charleston Fleet home games at Patriots Point Soccer Stadium.  Those fans that donate will get free admission! Home dates include May 20, June 15, June 30 and July 1.  Here are the Top 10 items needed by children in school: scissors, glue sticks, copy paper, crayons (24 pack), composition notebooks, colored pencils, pink erasers, washable markers, Kleenex or hand sanitizer and No. 2 pencils.

Tuesday, May 8 is Teacher Appreciation Day so don’t forget to thank your teachers for the wonderful job they do with your children.  Tuesdays all year long are also #GivingTuesday and #Give5TSC so you can make an impact thru social media as well.
