For Immediate Release:
CHARLESTON, S.C. – The Charleston Fleet finished up the regular season with a commanding 9-1-0 record in their inaugural season in the Women’s Premier Soccer League. After a dreamlike 8-0 start, the Fleet dropped it’s one and only match by a tight 1-0 score line on their final away trip at Carolina Rapids. The girls gathered themselves for their final regular season match at home on Friday, July 14 as they hosted Beaufort County FC. Back and forth in the early going made for an even affair, but as the game wore on it was clear that the Fleet were just too much to handle. First half goals from Amber Tripp and Bri Carney would be enough as the Fleet would coast to a 2-0 victory and their 9th win of the season.
The Fleet will host the South Region Playoffs on 7/22-7/23. The games will be played at Patriots Point Soccer Stadium and will include 4 of the top teams in the South! More information will become available about participating teams and ticketing options over the coming days. Check back in on our website for all of the updated information as it unfolds!
